I CAN, through its Early Talk programme, provides effective early intervention for children with speech and language difficulties. Helping children to improve their communication at an early age unlocks their potential to acquire the skills and knowledge that will help them to achieve more later in life.

Impetus has invested in I CAN as part of the Early Years Initiative.
* Plan phase investment is an initial investment period to develop the plan for growth. It is usually followed by further investment over a longer period.
Impetus is investing in I CAN initially for 12 - 18 months with a view to making a longer-term investment at the end of the planning process.
The charity is expected to receive up to £400k in strategic funding during the total length of the Impetus investment, and at least the equivalent of that amount in pro bono expertise, management support and additional funds raised.
The objective of the investment is to support the development of the organisation's capacity to deliver greater impact and to support the organisation to develop a three-year plan for the scale-up, which will build the sustainability of the organisation.
