Impetus Trust

Why not take part in a sponsored "challenge" event, such as a marathon or bike ride, and raise money for Impetus?  A number of our individual and corporate supporters have found this a particularly rewarding way in which to give.

Past sponsored event:

Three Peaks Challenge 2011

Three Peaks Challenge

On 23-24 July, Impetus donor Nick Charman (sitting second from left), Impetus Development Officer Kristina Abengoza (sitting far right), her husband Andrew Dennison (standing behind Kristina) and five other friends took on the National Three Peaks Challenge, raising nearly £10k for Impetus.

Enjoying enviable weather conditions, the group successfully completed the challenging climb to the three highest peaks in Scotland, England, and Wales in less than 24 hours.

A special mention goes to Nick, who raced up and down Snowdon in three hours (usually takes four) so that he could complete all the climbs - including the descents - within the 24 hours!

Kristina said about the challenge, "Three Peaks is just one of those things you have to do at least once in your life. This has to be one of the highlights of my year so far, not only because I completed it, but also because we were able to raise money for Impetus. What could be better?"

Other past sponsored events have included:

  • Impetus supporter Charlie Troup rode the gruelling Etape du Tour in July 2009, and raised over £23,000 for Impetus.  Watch a short film in which Charlie talks about supporting Impetus.
  • Impetus donor Kevin Reynolds completed the exhausting Royal Parks Half Marathon in October 2009.
  • An enthusiastic team of 15 staff from CVC Capital Partners climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in July 2010, raising nearly £125k for Impetus.
  • Impetus was a beneficiary of the Marathon of Marathons, taking place in Athens on 31 October 2010.
As part of the 250 runners organised by Campbell Lutyens and PEI Media, our Chief Executive Daniela Barone Soares endured scorching temperatures to complete the arduous race. All efforts compounded, Impetus received £70k from the total money raised at the event. Our special thanks go to all those who generously donated via Daniela's fundraising site. Your support is very much appreciated!
