There are over 13 million people in the UK living in poverty. Despite the economic growth of recent decades social mobility has remained stagnant, and the UK has one of the lowest rates of social mobility of any developed country. We need to invest in new solutions to a problem that has existed for too long.
With the help of our individual donors, corporate supporters and a number of grantmaking foundations, we are working to transform the performance of carefully selected, innovative charities. These organisations have proven models of helping economically disadvantaged people gain employment, access education, and dramatically improve their ability to lead positive, independent lives.
The effectiveness of our investment model has been proven: our charities have increased the number of people they help each year by a staggering 40%. These charities are helping over 200,000 a year, but we are ambitious to do more, and work with increasing numbers of charities. With your help, we aim to double the size of our portfolio by 2012, for even greater social transformation.
Join us in helping to break the cycle of poverty, by contributing either as an individual donor or as a corporate donor. Find out more about the many options for giving to Impetus.
