There are over 13 million people in the UK living in poverty. Despite the economic growth of recent decades social mobility has remained stagnant, and the UK has one of the lowest rates of social mobility of any developed country. We need to invest in new solutions to a problem that has existed for too long.
With the help of our individual donors, corporate supporters and a number of grantmaking foundations, we are working to transform the performance of carefully selected, innovative charities. These organisations have proven models of helping economically disadvantaged people gain employment, access education, and dramatically improve their ability to lead positive, independent lives.
The effectiveness of our investment model has been proven: our charities and social enterprises have increased the number of people they help each year by an average of 30%. These organisations are helping over 300,000 economically disadvantaged people a year, but we are ambitious to do more, and work with increasing numbers of charities and social enterprises. With your help, we aim to dramatically increase the size of our portfolio in the next few years, for even greater social transformation.
Join us in helping to break the cycle of poverty, by contributing either as an individual donor or as a corporate donor. Find out more about the many options for giving to Impetus.
