One of the ways Impetus leverages donors' money and helps the charities and social enterprises in its portfolio to increase their income is by introducing them to other grantmakers willing to fund individual charities directly, alongside Impetus. We call this form of leverage "partnership investment".
This is often of special interest to grantmaking foundations with a specific charitable focus, and to corporations with targeted corporate social responsibility programmes. They find it a particularly beneficial approach as:
- their money is well invested, as all organisations have been through the rigorous Impetus due diligence process
- they will receive regular updates on the progress of the charity or social enterprise, as part of the Impetus monitoring and evaluation process
- the organisation(s) they co-invest in will benefit from the capacity-building support Impetus provides to its portfolio charities and social enterprises.
