Clementina Francisco joined Street League three years ago and after completing Goal Setting and CV Writing classes she now has a job in a high street retail store and has the confidence to pursue her dreams.
What's changed about you?
Everything. I'm much more confident. And I take that confidence
everywhere I go. I've learned I'm actually a very competitive
person. I always want to be the best at everything I do.
I've switched jobs. I used to work in McDonald's, but then I started thinking I could do something much better. So now I have a new job, and I'm also going to college. Street League gives you hope and makes you realise you can do more.
Also, I'm captain of my football team at Street League. I'm so proud my team chose me. It was great to know they have trust in me.
What's the best thing Street League has done for
you?
I've learned to work as part of a team. With football, if you
don't have that team spirit, it will not work. That's one of the
great things Street League teaches you, and you can take that team
spirit with you wherever you go - at work, at college, with your
family.
Also, I can talk with people at Street League about everything, they're always there. They're sort of a family to me.
Street League is all about football, but it's much more than that. Football is just an idea, to get people to think about other things, like what they want to do with their life.
What do you hope for, in your future?
I'm studying business administration, and I'd like to work in an
office or as a counsellor for homeless people. I like to be on top,
so who knows what I can do - maybe I'll own this building one
day!
