Today we are celebrating three of our longest standing charities as they graduate from our portfolio, having completed their bespoke programme of support with us.

We have worked alongside Resurgo and ThinkForward for 14 years and The Access Project for 10 years, and during this time they have become bigger, stronger and more impactful organisations.

The success of these three organisations has been driven by the relentless commitment of each of their leaders to produce transformational outcomes for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Their journeys over these years are true stories of rigour, courage, and resilience.

We are proud of the part Impetus has played in helping Resurgo, The Access Project and ThinkForward flourish – helping them build highly effective interventions, develop high-performing leaders, and accelerate their growth.

These three charities will be the first to join a new network of Impetus alumni organisations that will launch this Autumn.

Working shoulder-to-shoulder with each of these charities, we’ve helped them increase the impact their interventions have on young people, and then generate strong evidence for this impact. This means that Resurgo, The Access Project and ThinkForward are all now able to prove that the work they do with the young people who come through their doors has a transformative impact on their lives.

Achieving this kind of evidenced impact is not easy. It takes time, deep partnerships with like-minded funders, and a laser focus from brilliant charity leaders to build high-impact programmes, and instil a culture that has, at its heart, a deep accountability for helping young people from disadvantaged backgrounds succeed in education and work.

We have also learned a considerable amount from each of the three organisations and we're grateful for their trust and commitment.

None of this work is possible without the support of our wonderful donors and their commitment to deep, lasting partnerships with Impetus and our charities – providing not just funding but practical and strategic guidance through their pro bono networks.

From insight to impact: tackling youth unemployment through the lens of race

Just under one million young people today are not in education, employment, or training (NEET). Young people who face multiple layers of disadvantage experience a compounding effect; they are far more likely to be NEET than their peers. What can be done? We heard from the Head of Youth Strategy and Policy at Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), The Traveller Movement, and the author of our latest Youth Jobs Gap report
