Over the weekend, we saw far-right rallies against immigrants take place in Whitehall, close to our office.

We are deeply concerned about the serious effect that seeing and experiencing these gatherings has on many people across the UK, including our own staff, our partner organisations' and the young people they work with.

It is shocking to see these events taking place at the heart of such a diverse city and we must not underestimate the damage racist and xenophobic acts like this have on the life chances and safety of young people. Racism has a deep and lasting impact - you never get used to it.

Racism and xenophobia have no place in our society, and we stand in solidarity with all our partners and colleagues against it.
