Every September, hundreds of individuals working in Private Equity and associated sectors come together for the Impetus Triathlon. A high-energy, community-driven sporting challenge, our Triathlon raises funds, vital for our mission – supporting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to succeed in school, work and life. Whether you’re an experienced triathlete or trying something new, the Impetus Triathlon is your chance to make every stroke, stride and pedal count.

1. A race for everyone

Designed with inclusivity in mind, there's a challenge to suit all fitness levels. The Impetus Triathlon offers four different race formats, including Olympic, sprint and challenge options, alongside a duathlon, all of which participants can complete individually or as part of a team of two or three.

For future duathletes and triathletes, the scootathlon welcomes children aged 4–8 to participate in a fun scooter, bike, and run race.

2. An iconic venue

Dorney Lake

Hosted at the iconic Olympic sporting venue, Dorney Lake, the Triathlon features a flat, closed-road course, safe for cycling and running. Surrounded by a serene lake and 400 acres of greenery, it’s a perfect course for securing your personal best while admiring the beautiful scenery.

3. An exciting atmosphere

Participants will receive a timing chip, race bib, medal and complimentary lunch on the day. There’s also a designated spectators' area to cheer competitors on.

Beyond the race itself, the event village is buzzing. Expect music, food and a kids’ tent packed with fun, from face painting to scavenger hunts and more. The Impetus Triathlon is more than just an event: it's a great day out.

4. Fundraising for programmes that deliver real impact

Impetus was established by people who wanted to ensure their donations would lead to meaningful change. Two decades on we’re still following the same ethos – your donations change lives because we make sure each of our interventions are evidence-based and deliver real impact.

Every pound raised through the Impetus Triathlon directly supports our work with brilliant organisations such as Action Tutoring, Generation UK and Empire Fighting Chance.

Just £500 could fund a young person’s place on a three-year STEM-inspired programme, £1,200 could support 25 students to attend educational workshops, and £6,000 could train 2,000 volunteer tutors.

Each participant is encouraged to fundraise a target amount, £500 for individuals or £1,200 for teams, with full support provided via our 2025 Impetus Triathlon Fundraising Pack.

Ready to join us? The 2025 Impetus Triathlon takes place on Saturday, 13 September. Visit our event page below to learn more, register, or make a donation!
